There were pros and cons to our stay. I booked it as a hotel but it is a hostel (not really and issue for us). The website photos do not accurately reflect the current state of the building. It is not bright and fresh as in the photos, but very tired and in need of some serious TLC. While the beds and bedding were very comfortable, the metal bed frames were very noisy. The window frames were rotten and allowed the weather in. The hairdryer didn’t really dry and was stuck together with tape. We were on the top floor and had a lovely view of Sacre Coeur. There is no elevator which didn’t bother us but could be an issue for some travellers. Despite the rundown nature of the property, it was perfectly adequate for our needs and we found some great restaurants nearby. Value for money, just don’t expect what you see in the pictures.

The experience was a nightmare. It started from the very beginning. The checkin guys gave me an old style key for the room which said room 406. I asked which floor, they said 4th. I asked where is the elevator and guess the answer "NO ELEVATOR". I am like.. wait, I just came here from another country with my family and 3 gigantic suitcases. Am I hearing this right ?? Well, at that point I had nobody to blame but me. So I paid for it by lifting 30kg suitcases 4 floors with a bad back. And that was just the beginning of my suffering. Next up, I opened the door lock with this old style "key" and when i enter I could find a room that was barely lit. I mean at night time, I needed my phone's flashlight to look inside my luggage!. Then I tried to lock the room from inside and guess what, it won't open without the key !!!. Are we living in 1950 ? Ok, so here's some more nonsense: - Bathroom is stinky - No hot water - shower area was smaller than the width of my suitcase. - No AC is sweltering summer - No way to contact reception from within room.

Enjoyed a 3 night stay with our 2 children in a family room. The hotel is basic but clean. Well situated with a very easy walk to Monmarte and a metro station 2 minutes walk away. lots of small restaurants, bars and cafes around the area. Breakfast is simple but good and staff are friendly7 and helpful. Would recommend for a simple stay in Paris that is good value for money.

I had read lots of reviews ahead of arrival and I have to be honest and say that I was a bit worried. Now that I have left, after a 4 night stay, I can confirm the the photos on the website (and various booking sites) are out of date and I can confirm that the accommodation is basic and that the building is old and could do with some updating. I can also confirm that there are no lifts and lots of stairs (we were on the 5th floor), however… My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The location is awesome and in a cool area (lots of great cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, grocery stores and the metro is so close and you can take a sort walk up to the Sacré-Cœur), the staff were helpful and the other guests were really friendly. There was a good vibe. It felt safe. Our room was a private family room made up of a bunk bed and two singles. It was basic but absolutely fine for us. The room was cleaned after night 2. The shower didn’t have much hot water, but we managed. We all slept well, even though there was some noise as other guests walked up the stairs to the rooms (as to be expected). The kitchen area was really clean so we prepared a light dinner for ourselves and the kids loved the table football. Paris is VERY expensive and you will have trouble finding reasonable accommodation for a family of 4 so with that in mind, this Hostel (remember it’s not a hotel!) was perfect for us. So much so that I wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

This is my first visit in Le Montclair Montmartre by River. We stayed two nights. From the window of our room we had a great view of the Sacre Coeur basilica. Rooms simply furnished for undemanding travelers. There is a kitchen and a small dining room at guests' disposal. Great location - 3 minutes walk to Jules Joffrin metro station. Great price for accommodation. Lots of grocery stores and small cheap restaurants around. I highly recommend.
